Light colour; quite a powerful, mineral nose, with a firm slatey palate. Dry and mineral, with a hint of honey on the finish. Eden Valley is one of the best places for Riesling and this is a lovely example.

Vintage estate imageThe vineyard was, in fact, founded by an Englishman, Joseph Gilbert in 1847. Gilbert, a true pioneer, is seen by many as laying the foundations for the Australian winemaking industry that we know today.
Despite its long and illustrious history, Pewsey Vale has also shown itself to be an innovator by being the first winery to bottle its wines under the now widespread screw cap.
